Screening of EMILIA + Q&A

Image 4.jpg

Join us for an online screening of the hit West End show EMILIA, followed by an exclusive Q&A with members of the cast and creative team!

400 years ago Emilia Bassano wanted her voice to be heard. It wasn’t. Could she have been the “Dark Lady” of Shakespeare’s sonnets? What of her own poems? Why was her story erased from history?

Emilia and her sisters reach out to us across the centuries with passion, fury, laughter and song. Listen to them. Let them inspire and unite us.

Celebrate women’s voices through the story of this trailblazing, forgotten woman. Stand up and be counted.

The film of this three-time Olivier Award-winning, West End production of EMILIA by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm was originally recorded for archive purposes at the Vaudeville Theatre in May 2019.

Find out more about the production, cast and read reviews at  www.EmiliaLive.com

Please note:

  • Captioned and audio described versions are available.

  • The screening will start at 7pm - the post-show Q&A at 9.30pm

City of Angels

The Donmar Warehouse’s Olivier Award-winning production of City of Angels hits the West End!

In 1940s Hollywood, a screenwriter has a script to finish. Stone, the hard-boiled private detective in his latest movie, has a case to crack. But this is Tinseltown, and nobody sticks to the script. It's hard to tell what's real... and what's reel.

City of Angels is a musical love letter to the glamorous world of old Hollywood and film noir, weaving together the story of screenwriter, Stine, and his creation, Stone. The West End production features an all-star cast including Hadley Fraser, Theo James, Rosalie Craig, Nicola Roberts and Vanessa Williams.

Cyrano De Bergerac

CyranodeBergerac_Prod_3507x2480.jpg

Don’t miss this chance to catch James McAvoy in this inventive new adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s masterpiece!

Adapted by Martin Crimp
Directed by Jamie Lloyd

Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all - if only he could win the heart of his true love. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of De Bergerac - or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight?

Fresh from their triumphant Broadway transfer of Betrayal, The Jamie Lloyd Company’s latest production blazes into the Playhouse Theatre with linguistic ingenuity to celebrate Cyrano’s powerful and resonant resistance against overwhelming odds.
