Overview
We’re thrilled to be working in collaboration with Lloyd Webber Theatres and the Really Useful Group to present this special Relaxed Performance of hit West End musical, School of Rock!
Who it’s for
The performance will be tailored especially for families with one or more child with additional needs, and suitable for those with autism, learning difficulties or other sensory and communication needs who require a more relaxed environment.
How it will differ from a standard performance
Working in collaboration with theatre staff, members of the Mousetrap team will support and guide you every step of the way through your theatregoing experience.
Prior to the event:
Prior to attending the show, we provide families with supporting materials including:
A SEND pack full of activities and games exploring the show’s themes and characters
A Visual Story
A list of songs featured in the show
Venue information and travel pack
On the day:
Friendly, fully-trained staff and volunteers will be there to welcome you into a relaxed environment and support you throughout the event
Adjustments will be made to the sound and lighting in the show
Usual theatregoing ‘rules’ will not apply - audience members can keep their phones switched on and there’ll be special break-out areas for anyone needing to leave the auditorium during the performance
We’ll also be running some FREE family workshops before the performance - more info coming soon!
Cost
Thanks to the support of our donors, we’re pleased to be able to offer tickets at the following subsidised rates:
£3 - £10 for children
£6-20 for adults
About the show
Based on the iconic hit film, this irresistible musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a supply teacher at a prestigious prep school.
There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? Join us at this Relaxed Performance to find out!
Running time: 2 hrs 30 min (inc. 20 min interval)
